About the Role
We are partnering with a reputable insurance organization to recruit a Claims Advisor to support the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of property and casualty claims. This role is well suited for a claims professional who combines strong analytical ability with sound judgment and a client-focused mindset.
The Claims Advisor will be responsible for managing a portfolio of moderate to complex claims, interpreting policy coverage, conducting investigations, and negotiating fair and timely settlements. This position plays a key role in maintaining service standards while ensuring claims are handled in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal guidelines, and best practices.
Success in this role requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer service with effective risk and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and interpret policy wordings to determine coverage and applicable limits.
• Investigate claims by gathering statements, documentation, and relevant evidence.
• Analyze loss details, liability exposure, and damages to determine appropriate reserves and settlement strategies.
• Negotiate and settle claims within delegated authority in accordance with company guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with insureds, claimants, brokers, vendors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation within internal claims systems.
• Monitor claim progress and manage timelines to ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support consistent claims handling practices.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
Qualifications & Experience
• 4–8 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Experience managing moderate to complex claims across property, casualty, accident benefits, or bodily injury is an asset.
• CIP designation or progress toward completion is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess liability, coverage, and damages.
• Sound negotiation and decision-making abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary typically ranging from $80,000 to $105,000, depending on experience and credentials.
