About the Role
We are partnering with a growing insurance brokerage to recruit a Senior Financial Analyst to support financial operations, reporting, and premium-related accounting activities. This role is well suited for a finance professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of billing, receivables, and financial controls within a regulated environment.
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in managing premium billing processes, supporting financial reporting, and providing insights to improve cash flow, operational efficiency, and overall financial performance. This position works cross-functionally with accounting, client service, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial execution.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to work with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee premium billing processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with policy terms, endorsements, and insurer agreements.
• Manage accounts receivable lifecycle, including cash application, collections, and reconciliation activities.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjustments, and financial analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to revenue, premium activity, and receivables.
• Monitor key metrics such as aging, cash flow trends, and collection performance.
• Support trust accounting and reconciliation of insurer payables and client accounts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to validate financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the administration and tracking of premium financing arrangements and payment schedules.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support business decision-making.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation and system enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and insurer agreements.
• Support internal and external audit requests as required.
Qualifications & Experience
• 3–6 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or revenue operations.
• Experience working in insurance, financial services, or a brokerage environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, billing, and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting tools such as Power BI is an asset.
• Experience with brokerage management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, Power Broker) is an asset.
• Progress toward or completion of a professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary typically ranging from $75,000 to $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
